Same, still, to this day. Am nearly completely fluent but for that... It's the one consistent sticking point for me too, for nearly 40 years. And it comes at the start of interactions so there really is no way around it sometimes. I took on doing company inductions last year and re-worked language that made saying it sneak up on myself... But again, that's going to drastic lengths. The other thing is to say it's a little thing but the stutter flares when you say your name as a way of laying the tracks before the train comes rolling through. I've used my middle name on nights out and have, like you are now considering, thought about changing the name but ultimately decided it would be a problem in a whole different way if I did. We wouldn't have the thoughts we have, or the vocab we have without the stutter we've navigated so maybe our name should remain, stutter and all. Good luck, whatever you decide to do.
