For me it is not gone an dI still have to think a bit while talking but I have controlled it to a point where I can talk to people in an articulate enough way and can get my point across wtihout having to substitute words. For me the secret is to be able to mask it with various techniques and working them together. I.e. If it comes up I sayy uhh or just repeat the word and catch my breath after a second or so (this is very common in non stutterers and happens more often then u realize. It is a free pass for me in a way). Also what helped me is being confident and as solid as I can when I talk and and taking contol of the conversation and not really giving a shit. What this does more then anything is buy me time. If you can control the conversation people would want to listen to u more and interrupt u less, so that defiitely helps in finishing your sentence even if u stutter or stop you dont have the time pressure in that case (i.e. Think of obama and how he does this sometimes). Also, since I am asian I can sort of change my accent a bit without much of anyone noticing. This for some reason helps me since I can butcher a word completley and not seem like i am stutteringm althoughh this a last resort for me, Another thing that helped me alot was just observing styles of talking, breathing, movement of the mouth and trying to emulate them. Watch Littlefinger from game of thrones and how the way he talks. I work that style into my speech sometimes and it has the same effect as say singing your speech, without sounding weird. I also do a similar thing with where I listen to rap and try to sing that. This also was very helpful to me since it allowed me better flow in my speech. These are all I can think off a the moment but theres probably many more that I unconciusly do, but if I work them in conjunction with each other I almost never stutter. I have to be super focused and relaxed though for these to work, so that is just one drawback I am working on, hopefully this will become secondary for me soon. Cheers and good luck
