I've stuttered since 4. It varies from day to day. Some days no stutter, some days I can't say a damn thing. I'm a chemist and work in a research lab doing isotopic analysis for archeological and paleontological samples. Not to mention general lab equipment repair guy. Speaking at conferences and making small talk with other researchers is the worst, but I get by. They understand the science and the points I try to get across. I guess my stutter makes me be concise in what I say, so it influences my writing. Straight to the point, no fluff in my published work.
