I'm also a 25 year old female who has stuttered her whole life. I am the only person in my family who has a speech issue, as far as I know. I wonder if somewhere further back in my ancestry my relatives did have speech issues, and now it's showing up in me. Or, is it NOT genetic, and I just happen to have this issue? It's hard to say. I'll probably never know. I didn't realize males were much more common to stutter than females. Interesting stuff!
