Social opportunities lost So today I was seeing some old chats in my phone with people (I’m still in highschool) and I realized, that due to this problem I’m literally unable to create strong bonds with people. If you notice, the real friendships are formed from interactions in real life, in person, and due to this problem I literally can’t tell stories the way I want, and I know some people are going to think that I actually can but I’m too scared to stutter while talking, and let me tell you something, that’s completely UNTRUE. Sometimes your stutter can be so bad that you virtually arent able to get the words out, is not a matter of being scared or shy or whatever. Do you know what CAN happen when you really struggle to hold a conversation ??? What CAN happen is that the importance that other people put in your words decrease, and I know that some people will be patient, but again, it is very possible that people will just start mocking you, or literally start ignoring you like if you were crazy. (The situation described in this paragraph can change in severity depending on how much you stutter, I know some stutters are mild, that’s why I mention CAN so much, it is something that can be dodged or evitated). If you become the quiet guy of the group due to stuttering, you will live showing a false personality, so in summary, this problem CAN potentially contribute to you being a very lonely person and now thinking about it, can also contribute to you developing personality problems and things like that, basically, it CAN be a shadow that hides your real you. So, putting aside the anxiety issues that this causes, it CAN destroy your social life in horrible ways. Sorry if I have grammatical errors, English isn’t my native language. And sorry for all the CANS lol.
