Just saying “yes” to things outside my comfort zone. Started off part time, helping with seminars etc, no real public speaking yet. And then I was asked to take workshops which was a bit more nerve wracking, but ultimately not that bad. Then I did a few lectures, when the full time job came around I went for it and got it! In general I found living your life as if you are fluent is the only way. I still stammer, I just don’t care!
