Oh yeah kids will definitely laugh at you. Some kids will even mock you. Kids are dicks and have no social filter. But if you don’t react, don’t get mad and just reset they eventually stop. Sometimes I had to stop class to stare down a particularly troublesome student, but it’s rare and if you nip it in the bud it won’t be too bad. It’s hard because the stutter undercuts our self esteem, but if you can develop a strong sense of inner confidence everything else falls into line. Remember that you’re awesome, you flew all the way out there and are having a wonderful expierence that few get to have. Breathing excercises help a ton too. Just a couple of quick breaths can do wonders for you. I did a month long CELTA for mine which was honestly overkill. Most other teachers just had a degree with nothing else. However the CELTA also gave me a ton of confidence in my teaching skills and really helped iron out the kinks so I would highly recommend it. For me, knowing that I belonged and knowing that I could do the job was crucial in overcoming the stutter
