When I was a teenager (35 now), I had this idealization that my stutter would eventually just ... go away and when I got older everything would be 'normal'. That never happened and here I am, 35 and still stuttering. I have improved but I have the occasional terrible day caused by stress / anxiety. The only way your speech will improve is if you work at it. I saw you mention in another comment that you don't have a bunch of extra money, so professional therapy is probably out of the question. However, there is a free book, [Self-Therapy for the Stutterer](https://www.stutteringhelp.org/sites/default/files/Migrate/book0012_11th_ed.pdf), that I have found quite helpful. When I'm good about practicing the techniques regularly I find my speech improves. When I hit a bad block and go back to my training, it almost always helps. Of course, the hard part is breaking out of the panic of a block, calming yourself down and going through the mental loops / exercises. Sorry you're struggling, I know the feelings well and how frustrating it is. Keep your head up.
