I hear you. I was married in 2008. Intimate ceremony in Italy with family and friends. About 35 of us so I can relate to you. I’m Irish btw… And so, to challenge myself, I opted for the last speech. I had 2 best men. My brothers and father also spoke. I have to admit I had a large whiskey 🥃 as everyone else spoke. I had prepared myself. Bullet points on cards (which I have kept to this day). I made a real effort to include all the guests as best I could and thanked one and all by name (receiving a warm applause) It ranks as one of the most important days of my life, not just for being married but from a speaking perspective …I exceeded my expectations and I encourage you to think the same. I had been very worried about it (as a person with a life long covert stammer). I chose to compliment my wife, chose to thank the guests and I think chose to be funny… I was approached by guests afterwards to be told it was the best speech they ever heard Remember the reason why you are giving the speech, the meaning behind it, the significance to you….all you can do is try your best. The message is important. She loves you. And you love her… Rooting for you Please keep us posted
