That’s me, too. I developed a fairly strong stutter in my 40s after a brain injury. I couldn’t do my job (corporate training) anymore, traveling is awful (you’re asked so many questions!), and just so many other arenas I never thought about have become daunting: dining out, shopping, and even getting movie tickets. It wasn’t something I ever thought about before, but be thankful if you can speak fluently; you never know if you one day you’ll have problems saying your own name.
