Focusing on your stutter makes it SO much worse. What tends to happen is when you're focused on your stutter you get more anxiety, when you get more anxiety the stutter gets worse, and so on and so fourth. It's a vicious cycle. Focusing on your stutter empowers it. There's something that I really need you to understand and believe though that I think will really help you out. YOU ARE NOT YOUR STUTTER Your stutter is just something you've done from time to time in your life. I know it's super painful to deal with sometimes and there are some jerks out there who can be cruel to you for it but your stutter is really only something that you do. It's not a part of you, it doesn't define your character, and it doesn't make you a better or worse person. There's plenty of people who even found it within themselves to stop stuttering without all of the psychological tricks and gimmicks you see on YouTube.Look up Jack Menear and read some of his articles. He has some wonderful insights you might be able to gain from. "An Interview with a recovered stutterer" is a really good one to start with. Stay strong my friend and keep moving forward.
