1. Some think it's unattractive, some care more about other traits. I know 2 very very successful people including 1 director at my company and one teacher who stutter with all those grimaces and secondary behaviours but they are still the most confident and intimidating people I have ever met. And they have also made their stuttering less noticeable overtime now. 2. If your relationship is a deep one, you would not feel this way and it would get a little bit easier. But if it's a date or casual or initially for a few months, it is more difficult. 3. You are absolutely right, we are more fluent with family and close ones, and also when we self-talk, we don't stammer that much or sometimes not at all, stuttering is triggered socially, it's not just that there is some anomaly in you, it's just that social circumstances trouble you due to the conditioning of the stutter overtime. Just make your peace with it, it will definitely be of less magnitude if you will stop trying to control your speech. The more you try to avoid stutter, the more it will manifest, the more you just leave it, stop thinking about it and let it be, the more manageable it becomes. Put yourself in very difficult social situations and let the worst happen to you many times, then you will gain the belief that is alright it can't get worse and after that however you live in life at least the worry is gone. Have you considered speech therapy friend?
