Of course one can just 'be ok' with whatever they have. But I suspect that's not what the OP is trying to convey. He or she knows that. It's the accumulation of years of problematic situations that a stammer effects. It limits you in all aspects of life since speech is such a fundamental tool in how we communicate. Literally speech is used everywhere.
