I've had stuttering problems my entire life. I got into a major asset management company after college and felt like I struggled in similar ways. What helped a lot was Toastmasters. Congratulations on passing the CFP. I don't know anyone who passed who didn't take it serious so I'm sure you have qualities necessary to be successful. Just understand most of the puzzling faces you get from client are more about their uneasiness and discomfort with discussing finances. This frame of thought has helped me. 10 years ago I passed my CFP. I left a cushy job for a wirehouse-esch environment. It sucked but I leaned into it. I reached similar conclusions that there is an emphasis more on style then substance, so I started my own firm. I'm doing well. I say all this to say what ever you are will to work at, you can get better at. Try Toastmasters. If there isn't a way up where you are, make one for yourself.
