I wouldn't personally either of those intensive courses. I would especially advise against HCRI. They didn't even have an SLP on staff until to a few years ago to cover their asses from that criticism. McGuire at least focused on more than just fluency shaping, but in the end it's still all about fluency. 15 minutes once a week sounds useless and if it was a school based SLP, chances are they barely knew anything about stuttering. I would get your son connecting with FRIENDS Who Stutter and/or Camp SAY. That's probably the most beneficial thing you can do for him. Maybe through them you'll be able to find a good SLP who actually understands stuttering and knows how to help. The hardest thing
