I do this. It’s how I function at work and social events. It’s tiring and it strikes some people as annoying but some people also tell me my voice is calming. I speak softer and slower than I do naturally. I don’t see it as beneath me. It’s a tool and a coping mechanism, you could argue whether or not it’s healthy but at least I find it effective.
