The older I get, the more leeway I tend to give people for being ignorant…it’s not easy and I’m not saying this is what you should do. But if you otherwise like your job and your boss, consider forgiving their ignorance after a chat with them. Sometimes people say and do really stupid things that unknowingly hurt other people, I think we are all guilty of that at some point. It sucks but sometimes people try to say things to be funny or fit in with the group without thinking how their words will effect someone else…we all do it. We amplify it in our heads because a lot of us tie part of our identity to being a stutterer, so when someone says something about it, it seems intensely personal, but trust me they usually dont mean it that way.
