Late Onset Stuttering Hi, I was officially diagnosed with a stutter/disfluency at the end of my 9th grade year, but it started at the beginning. I could hardly read aloud or talk up in class. It got better with therapy, but now I am two years out of college (almost 10 years after diagnosis). I switched jobs in February to something that fits me a lot better personally, but have recently noticed an uptick in disfluencies with my speech in the last month of so. I am wondering if other people go through phases with their speech? And what the cause could be for developing a stutter apparently so late in life compared to others (~14/15 years old). I am now seeing that it could have been a neurological event/trauma although I remember nothing happening then and am wondering if I should go see a specialist in conjunction with an SLP. Thank you in advance.
