You are incorrect to state that this method of speech will lose it’s effectiveness over time. If that has been your experience, I can assure you, this is because of psychological reasons. Yes, it’s true that certain “miracle fixes” lose their effectiveness over time, such as the speakeasy device, but this technique is not one of them. There is a great amount literature on this method of speaking. The reason why it works, even for non stutters, is because you are bypassing the certain broken neurological pathways that deal with your speech. You are bypassing those pathways in favor for the pathways that deal with music. The technique does not get less effective over time. However, you are not solving the stuttering condition directly. To do that, you have to repair the broken neurological pathways on the side of your brain that deals with speech. While this method avoids those neurological pathways, it can still be useful in doing that. But… If you are happy with speaking this way for the rest of your life, then you don’t have to actually fix the stuttering condition itself. When you get really good at it, the average listener won’t even be able to discern what you are doing to artificially achieve the fluency. And if they do, don’t be ashamed—have pride in the way you speak now :)
