Like others have said, it should not let it affect you in your dream career. As for me, it did prevent me from getting the job that I wanted. As a kid, I always wanted to be a police officer. Recently, I applied and got through the whole process. It was until the police academy where I had to talk a lot. It discouraged me to the point where I felt I had to quit. I talked to my superiors and they told me repeatedly that this was not an issue and that I should not quit. Ultimately it was too much for me to handle. I regret it giving up so quickly, and wish I would of stuck it out just a little bit more. So I say to you, don't let this hold you back. Most of the time the biggest critic about your speech is yourself.
