I really have no idea other than successful psychotherapy for an abusive childhood. I'm 98% fluent in all casual conversation. Only when I try to explain a new concept or when speaking Spanish might I stutter. When I randomly stutter it devastates me. Most people regard me as a non-stutterer and any breakthrough surprises them and devastates me. The stigma remains. I'm 77 years old.
