I usually say it in a more casual tone, something like: “Hi, before we get started I just want to let you know that I do stutter. It may take me a little longer to respond to your questions than others, but it doesn’t mean I’m nervous. And please feel free to ask me anything about my speech, it is not a taboo subject.” For therapy I went to AIS for speech therapy. Part of that therapy was focusing on desensitizing me to stuttering.
