My 7 year old son has therapy and what it’s helped with hugely is confidence. It’s never too late to have therapy, my sister has a severe adult stutter and regrets not having the confidence to start some speech therapy and now feels she’s too old (she’s not!) it’s such a shame as so much can be done to help. Some of the things my 7 year old is learning will equip him when he’s your age, things like using a “fake stutter” at the start of talking to almost allow the stutter to happen. Pausing, slowing down, breathing and working on stopping the blocks that accompany the stutter (my son used to screw his face up or hide his mouth). One thing I found really interesting (and I’m not suggesting you do this) was that my sons therapist talks to lots of kids/teens who use accents to avoid stuttering. Her work is to help you not need those crutches but I do notice with my son that if he speaks in his native accent (we are brits living here in the US 5 years) he stutters more than if he uses his school accent (American accent) which he naturally slips into at school.
