I've come to understand stuttering not as a speech problem, but as a communication problem. There's nothing wrong with us physically, we don't stutter when we speak alone, so this is a problem with how we portrait ourselves towards other people, in my case, mainly authority figures. As we grow older this behavior and our beliefs become more entrenched, and it seems much harder to get free from this. So, I believe that if we want to get cured, we have to target multiple things at the same time, perceptions, beliefs, behaviors, our self-image, emotions, etc.
