right? the purposefully slow speech when tired, the thoughtful word choice, he was doing textbook speech therapy tricks to avoid stuttering. it absolutely felt (and still feels) like being called incompetent by proxy when people call out his language use as showing he is in mental decline. he’s not a spring ass chicken, but the speech he was using was clearly to avoid stuttering.
