I don't stutter, but I interviewed someone that does for my YouTube channel, Evan Sherman. We talked about this, how it's a completely overused suggestion, and he made this point: Have you ever met someone who stutters? Yes Have you ever met someone who sings everything? Absolutely no. Even if that worked, you have to calculate which is worse...a stutter, or doing something completely weird and socially abnormal...and pretty much always, people will choose to stutter.
