I started working in restraints when I was younger for many of the same reasons. Was close to joining the AF. After a few months busing tables, one of the first tables I waited on was a younger couple about my age, and the guy laughingly mocked me in front of his date. I sucked it up and continued their order. The girl eventually left during the meal and apologized on her way out. Things only got better for the next 5 years working there including my stutter. Sometimes we have to go through some stuff to come out the other side.
