That very much does and much better that what I've been reading as far as the research goes. He does go to a private SLP who has been very helpful. My wife was considering sending him to a camp with other stutterers, but I don't know if that would make it better or worse, especially since it is so personal. The speaking more slowly was something the SLP recommended, not because he couldn't understand, but more so he could keep up. It's much better now, so it's not like we have to speak in slow motion, but it's worse for him when we try and converse at normal speed, because he'll try and keep up, but is filled with block after block. And yeah, no "spit it out" or anything like that. It's absolutely forbidden in our house (he has an older brother) and everyone is empathetic and compassionate. Thank you for your response.
