I told my boyfriend on our second date that I stutter. He was surprised, because he hadn’t picked up on it. But at some point I have had major blocks and because he was then aware of my stutter, he didn’t make nothing out of it. We have been together for a few years now and it’s all good :) I only see benefits from telling people as soon as possible that you stutter: 1) it is a relieve for you, because then you don’t have to try to hide it, 2) it helps the other person understand and 3) it is a test of character: if he says some ignorant or mean BS, that’s the writing on the wall and you cannot unsee that.
