Of course research is being done, but it’s way underfunded and that’s why it’s taking so long for us to understand it. Unfortunately with how the pharmaceutical industry works, if the funding and potential for profits aren’t there then they’d rather not spend their time developing a drug. Again, if there was more funding for Alzheimers that would likely speed up progress quite a bit. This is why we need to completely nationalize medicine, so that the health and well-being of the country takes priority over profits and making the shareholders money
