I really feel it depends on how and when you stutter. Even I started stuttering when I was in the ninth grade. Some people stutter for other reasons which is not what most people with...if I may say...a real stuttering problem experiences. I have a stutter and it is not in my control at all even though I am focussed on the word I am going to say and very clear in my mind that I want to say it.
