Don't make it a habit to lie, people will lose trust in you and you will eventually lose trust in yourself and that is dangerous. Why lie when you can just use other words? I get that you also do it to avoid longer conversations and such, that's why I did it at least. I don't lie anymore when I block but I try to use other words I feel are easier to get out.
