Video games saved my life from chronic depression. Not only did it help to distract my mind, but in the end it helped me work on practicing my fluency. I played games like WoW and Counter Strike that greatly benefited from voice chat, and since I prided myself in being good at these games I was more easily convinced to practice my fluency in a real setting. Unfortunately though I realized after I had gained a lot of control with my fluency that I was still depressed sometimes, it was just over other stuff (mainly finances), so now I'm trying to work through that. I was in therapy for a couple years and that helped a little but I couldn't afford to keep it up.
