Hey dude. I’ve been there. And I’m still at that point from time to time. I started seeing a therapist and it has helped tremendously. I’m almost 33 years old and recently I went to a Stuttering conference in the city I live in. It was the first time in my life that I’d been in a room full of people who stutter. I spoke in a microphone in front of a room full of people and it was the most liberating feeling I’ve ever had. I was absolutely terrified but it was the best thing I could have done for myself. If you have the means…. Go see a therapist. If you live in a city that has a stuttering support group…. Do that too. I imagine there are people in this sun that have zoom support groups, too. I’ve been in speech therapy off and on in my life and my stutter has been diagnosed as “Very Severe.” I have secondary characteristics such as smacking and clicking of my mouth. It’s still hard but I’m here to say…. I know this is a platitude buuuut…. IT GETS BETTER. Feel free to dm me if you need someone to talk to.
