Definitely start saying the word slowly. Unless you are a very skilled yoga breather, taking a deep breath in the moment of a block (fear) will almost definitely result in a high chest breath, which biologically furthers the fear that is causing the block. It’s better to do a normal exhale, especially as fluent-talkers talk on exhales.
