The only impact it has had is the impact I have allowed it to have. When I left school I was nervous and didn't want to talk to people. I started a business and tried to communicate via Email and AIM. The internet was not like it is now. It was a struggle to find people to take a chance on me because I was forcing them to work differently from how they wanted to. I eventually figured that out and started to pick up the phone and offer phone calls. I did my best to communicate like everyone else and soon found that most people weren't bothered by my stutter. I have since changed roles multiple times and gone from strength to strength. I have also found that the more I talk the better my speech gets. The first time presenting to 20 people is nerve-wracking. The 5th time is not so much at all. I find the trick is to focus on the positive outcomes and keep putting myself out there.
