I like this analogy because it illustrates how a seemingly small thing (like a mild stutter) can be a heavy burden if it is your constant companion. It also does a very good job illustrating how much bigger the problem gets if you try to hide it. It further does a very good job illustrating that there is no need to be anxious: It's just a grapefruit - so what, no need to hide it. What the analogy doesn't do very good is to portray the unreasonable anxiety that comes with hiding one's stutter. Why is it a problem if I stutter and show that to others? Something I asked myself a million times and it is still VERY hard for me to not care. Even in front of my friends. Thanks for considering our opinion by the way, I appreciate :)
