You just reminded me of something. One day, when I was chatting to the manager of a place I used to work at, we were talking about what high school was life for us and he said “I used to get picked on a lot because of my stutter”, and I was like - what are you talking about? And he said “oh come on, you must have noticed”, and I had no clue what he was referring to. After that conversation was the only time I even noticed he had a stutter because it was such a mundane and irrelevant thing that it wasn’t even worth acknowledging until he actually pointed it out. Honestly, I had no idea he had a stutter. Anyway, just wanted to share that story to reenforce what you were saying.
