My knee-jerk response is to pursue this opportunity. You sound interested in it. IMO, if your speech therapy isn't making much difference after a year, you need to make a change there. Are you putting in a serious effort towards your speech therapy? i.e. doing the work, day in and day out? If you're working hard at the therapy and not making improvement, get a different speech therapist. Not all speech therapist are equal.
