My job requires it quite often. I work in healthcare security and sometimes you have to be very assertive with people. I’m 26 and have been able to curb a lot of my stutter but when tensions get high and the emotions rise it definitely can become a barrier to communication. Especially when people see it as a sign of weakness and try to make fun of me for it or use it against me. Go right ahead, I’ve been called much worse by more important people to me and I’ve built a thick skin from my career. I know this isn’t as easy for others but damn was it hard for years starting out in security. I’m about 7 years into the field now so it just comes with time my friend.
