Questions about writing a character with a stutter (from someone with a stutter) Hello there :D So this isn't the first time I've asked on reddit about something like this (it may not look like it because i change accounts like socks), but 64 pages in; I'm getting paranoid I myself developed a stutter a while ago and somewhat projected a lot of that and on a main character of a project I'm working on, but now I'm really second guessing it. This is a question about grammar more so than the character, beta readers are for that, but I want to know if I should go and edit my whole manuscript I would honestly, if multiple people agree on it, I just want to do it justice and not seem like, I'm mocking anyone because this is not my intention, heck this character is based on me. Are there dos and don'ts for writing a stutter? Certain things that people use while writing that are kinda shitty? Basically what is the best way to write it in dialogue? If you want to provide examples that would be greatly appreciated it also. As I said I have a stutter myself but I don't really have anyone to get a second opinion from. And lastly I'd like to start some discussions with this and I apologize if this comes off as rude, I don't really don't know how to implement tone so, yeah
