Hi! SLP here. I’ll do my best to address some of your points. As far as I know social anxiety alone does not cause stuttering but it can make it worse. It’s also possible that if you have negative feelings about your speech you’ve developed social anxiety around speaking as a result. It’s unlikely that your stutter will disappear on its own but there are things you can do to help manage your disfluencies. I’m not sure I would recommend the SpeakEasy. They sometimes work but like you mentioned they are expensive and if you didn’t like DAF or AAF you probably would find it distracting as well since it’s the same concept. I would recommend looking into speech therapy. Insurance may not cover it but if there are SLP grad school clinics near you they may be able to go there for a much more affordable cost. Speech therapy can help you learn some fluency enhancing techniques to use while speaking and also offer some counseling specifically around your speech and feelings about speaking. I hope this is helpful! Feel free to ask me questions. Best of luck to you :)
