Question about speech therapist

Question about speech therapist I've heard a hard time finding a speech therapist in my local area. Most of what I've found is children, or therapist who work with dementia or something along those lines. Have any of you had success working with someone who isn't necessarily specialized in therapy for stuttering? I also doubt one for children would take me in, and I'm not sure if I would want to go to a children's facility.
