I did this during a college presentation, and even though a few people still laughed a bit (at least they tried to hide it), it felt better than a previous experience where I hadn't disclosed it and stuttered anyway. There was a sense of honesty and relief, as if to say, ' Yeah, I stutter. And I have to deal with it. So I'm gonna live my life anyway.' I didn't feel too embarrassed after it (apart from the existing constant lifelong shame lol).
