I feel the same way, I’ve stuttered all my life, and on some level I’m grateful for the perspective it has given me. Despite having a stutter, I have persevered in my life. I’m stronger, more patient, kinder and more empathetic. Mine is sometimes severe, sometimes moderate, and I have dealt with my own issues surrounding it and have faced cruelty-but most people come to a kinder understanding with education. I’m a teacher, my job is to educate, and sometimes that’s on being different. Different does not mean bad, different does not mean scary, and in my lived experience educating people on it leads to friendship and love. I was put on this earth to spread kindness, love, and a little bit of dark humor – no stutter can hold me back.
