Stuttering: a trial and error episodic journey I have always had stuttering issues, been on therapy when i was a child. It helped significantly before it came back again and now that I'm in college i realised I had to work on reducing that if not eliminating it. I had significant success again, but unpredictably it goes back to the same circuit one fine day out of nowhere. Needless to say it demotivates me, and everyone in this community from the core. Personally, looking at my case i found several issues which i will address here and seek suggestions for: 1) there are certain words which while coming out seem extra difficult ( especially words starting with m,b and i guess it's subjective for everyone). Can someone help me with this? 2) If i need to speak for more than 5 minutes at a stretch i start stuttering badly. 3) For this reason i could never attempt class presentation even if i knew the subject from heart/ could never participate in class discussion/ interviews/ very apprehensive to pursue internships about journalism, i really like that subject but speaking seems to be a hindrance. 4) Even if i can speak 90% of the sentence fluently, that one or two difficult word messes up big time with me and my confidence. 5) After months of success, it comes back one fine day and I'm dumbstruck as to why. 6) I donot want to engage in therapy rn, anything else/ any online public speaking forum/ if anyone has tried Toastmasters/ any other form of suggestion or help will be highly appreciated. 7) i have my dissertation viva coming up, and other academic commitments but I'm shit scared that I'll not be able to proceed beyond the first sentence. I really really need help from my reddit family. Please send in your suggestions, thank you so much everyone.
