The effects of stutter on health and life expectancy I searched the web for any information on how long term stutter affects one's health. Did not find much. So I wonder: Do PWS suffer from higher rates of breathing disorders? Sleep disorders? Stress? Digestive problems? Heart disease? Etc. I am 45 and I stutter since first grade. Even though my stutter improved on the surface, speaking is still stressful and exhausting for me. I realize that linking and distinguishing the causes and consequences is difficult in such research. Still, why not ask.
