What I meant was actually that I would have liked for a stuttering adult to talk to me about it (I would have been too shy to bring it up myself!) Of course this is going to be different for every teen/kid, and it's best to be on the safe side like you said. Better not to risk making them feel worse about it. I bet hearing you stutter is already pretty good for them either way, it shows them they can be successful adults even in jobs with a lot of speaking.
