Telling employers/clients you stutter. What has been your experience? Here's mine Ever since I became super comfortable with my stuttering and saw it as a strength (still on that path tho), I ALWAYS tell employers and clients I stutter, so any unusual pauses or repetition of words is not a sign of nervousness because I am not. So far, it has worked for me and surprisingly, they see it as a form of confidence since most people try to hide theirs. It is better for me to remove any form of assumption from their minds. I.e. Is he nervous? Is he shy? Is he not sure of himself? etc. than for me to wing my way through the conversation with hopes they won't find out I stutter. What has been your experience with proactively telling these stakeholders about your stutter early on in the conversation? Thanks!
