I'm the exact same way. While I had a stutter when i was younger it was very mild. But it got so much worse after college. I think I need constant social exposure otherwise the stutter turns into a major disability. I don't exactly know why though. I was a much happier person in college due to the sense of community, close friends, daily social interaction, and I wasn't as lonely. So I don't know how that affects a stutter but I guess it does. Now I can't even ask a stranger for the time or place an order at chick FIL a.
